Located in Bakersfield, Jim Burke Ford Lincoln was founded in 1964 when Jim Burke purchased Haberfelde Ford. Haberfelde Ford, established in 1913, was then located downtown. In 1977 Jim Burke moved the dealership to its current downtown location at 2001 Oak Street. Today, it is one of the biggest Ford dealerships in the nation.

In August 1985 Jim Burke bought the Kitchen Boyd Lincoln Mercury dealership. In January of 1989 he moved the Lincoln Mercury dealership to a new facility in the Bakersfield Automall.

As the market grew for Ford products, the company expanded into the Automall with it's second Ford store in 2004. 2011 marked the year Ford Motor Company eliminated Mercury from the Lincoln Mercury brand, a move that allowed for the stunning development of Lincoln as a premier luxury brand and the construction of our state of the art Lincoln showroom and service center. Most recently, our second stand alone Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center was opened at 5301 Gasoline Alley in the Bakersfield Automall.

Though Jim Burke died in July of 2006, the dealerships and other related companies are still family owned and operated. Today the company employs nearly 300 people. The company's success is attributed to the generations of employees who have built lasting relationships through great customer service.

The dealership has a dedicated commercial fleet department that serves federal and local government agencies, small business and major industries located in Kern County. Jim Burke Ford also has a leasing company that is well established with local businesses, plus a large rental agency that is part of the nationwide Ford Rental System. The Jim Burke Collision Care facility and regional parts and service operations are an integral part of the company in building lasting relationships and providing excellent customer service.
